TOPIC: THE WORD KILLS PROFANITY
SCRIPTURE: Not slothful in business, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord. Romans 12: 11.
THOUGHT: Profanity or frivolity begins to disappear or dies out of your life when you allow the Word to influence your life. It has been confirmed that the Word of God is changer of lives and destinies. The Word of God is a transformer. Anything can change when it is brought under the influence of the Word. This means, one reason for unchanged character and lifestyle is refusal to bring one’s life under the influence of the word. People who study the Word consistently and allow the Word affect them are changed. Now, one area of life that changes when brought under the Word is profanity and frivolous living.
Profanity or frivolity begins to disappear or dies out of your life when you allow the Word to influence your life.
The Christianity of no substance, that is, superficial, peripheral Christianity gives way for a spiritual life of intensity when you bring your life under the influence of the Word. You would discover that you begin to acquire spiritual ‘ruggedity’ and your spiritual temperature begins to increase. Romans 12: 11 says, Not slothful in business, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord.
When you are on a healthy diet on the Word of God, all of a sudden, the things that used to matter will matter no more. The struggle you used to pass through and all the thing that captured your focus and your fancy, begins to die; your appetite begins to be redirected.
By the time you begin to get into God, and God begins to get into you, profanity, vanity and frivolity begin to die in your life. Then you begin to realise that no one follows you up to pray or evangelise. My counsel is, let the Word of God dwell richly in you.
Remember this: Profanity or frivolity begins to disappear or dies out of your life when you allow the Word to influence your life.
ASSIGNMENT:
- Make up your mind never to live a profane and frivolous existence.
- Build your spiritual temperature by the Word and prayer.
PRAYER: Father, I thank You for Your Word to me today. I receive the grace to live a vibrant spiritual life, LORD, in Jesus’ Name.
